My Mentorship Program
As a self taught designer, I only got to where I am through the generosity of others who were willing to teach me.
Since the pandemic, I had 1:1 chats with over 60+ BIPOC designers and covered topics such as imposter syndrome, self-advocation, setting boundaries, and creative career goal setting. On top of that, I have spoken at numerous events catered towards students. I’ve helped many folks find new roles and passions. I am currently speaking to new grads and folks looking to make a transition to becoming a professional creative.

I just want to thank you for coming to talk to our students yesterday. I’m not sugar coating whatsoever when I say everyone really loved your talk. I’ve had multiple tell me they wish you were their mentor and just generally that you are cool/want to be your friend.
Our talk really helped me reevaluate what was most valuable to me (I even used the 3P’s you mentioned!). After a long re-evaluation of my situation, I decided it was best to step back.
I think the universe aligned after because a few days later, I got a new job that pays me well, with amazing people, and we’re working on valuable things. I've been here for a few months now, and I don't see myself going anyway for a while. I'm really happy and grateful for where I am now, and I believe it's because of our mentorship session.
Thank you again for making mentorship accessible and for being a great mentor.
Just wanted to thank you again for your mentorship! I accepted an offer and am now in my second week of work. I can't believe I got my first product designer job. I really think changing up my portfolio from your advice and changing my approach for interviews/how I thought of my journey from your worksheets made all the difference.
